Ramavarman.t@timesgroup.com THRISSUR: The heart of a patient who was declared brain-dead after road accident was retrieved at the Daya Hospital in Thrissur on Thursday, marking another achievement in Kerala's organ transplant history. It was then air-lifted from Kochi to the Fortis Malar Hospital in Chennai by a chartered flight. The state authorities had created a 'green corridor' to ensure that the ambulance carrying the heart covered the distance of more than 60 km from the hospital to the Cochin airport in just 43 minutes.
